Silk shantung bathrobe
Le Beau Gustave
18 Rue Duret
75116 Paris
France
It's called Another Morning. It's made of silk shantung.
Size L.
It has its almost twin brother, from which it differs by the purple piping which finishes its lapel and highlights its pockets.
Its measurements:
- Shoulder to shoulder (flat on the back): 55 cm
- Sleeve: 62 cm
- Height under collar: 125 cm
Silk shantung is a friend for all seasons, worn without anything underneath in the summer and with a shirt (white!) or a T-shirt when the weather cools down. We imagine it more for brunch and country days, but it's up to you to decide.
Some of the "unique pieces" at Beau Gustave are original creations made in Paris in a couture workshop using the ends of coupons from big names in fashion, while others are vintage pieces found or entrusted to a consignment store.
Bathrobe, dressing gown... Whatever name you give it, this pretty garment is a style marker, to be worn on multiple occasions: in the style of the elegant men in American or French films from the 60s, in a more flamboyant way like in the very show-off 80s, but also to give a little style to Zoom meetings, and class to afternoons around the pool.
Through it, Le Beau Gustave affirms men's right to timeless elegance with multiple possibilities. You can be a fan of suits and a classic wardrobe and appreciate a beautiful vintage La Perla or Lanvin piece. Or you can be a fan of a more baroque style and step out in a vintage brocade bathrobe.
In any case, it will be a unique pleasure to adopt this new habit, very representative of an art of living and a "hedonistic textile" desire that Le Beau Gustave has set itself the mission of promoting.
Depending on the option chosen, it can be worn over a shirt, a T-shirt, or another knit, or directly against the skin. The only incongruity would be to pair it with a turtleneck. And even then, perhaps winter will make us change our point of view.
Finally, note that most of the unique pieces are made of silk, which gives them an exceptional drape and comfort, without being too sentimental or too affectation.
Some of the vintage models are made of a cotton blend or an acetate that was very fashionable until the 1970s, with a silky finish, bright colors and great comfort to wear.
